We met Samaria Leach during the pandemic, when she got some great press shining a light on her “Window of Love,” which was quite literally the window at her house, opened, through which Samaria handed out lunches and books to kids in her neighborhood who were home and hungry and in need of her warm generosity during a really hard time.
Fast forward to today, and the Window of Love looks a little different in how frequently they serve the community, but one thing has stayed the same—Samaria’s fearless leadership, contagious optimism and radiant spirit. Her typical holiday routine is to give selflessly, serving hot meals alongside her family at the homeless shelter. This year, to support families in need for Thanksgiving, the Window of Love also has asked for support to provide food and gift cards to 30 families. It was a no-brainer for us to make the Window of Love our November recipient of our Lawyers Give Back gift, which is a donation in the amount equivalent to a billable hour to a different charity every month.
The Window of Love is a two-time recipient, which is a testament to the power of a hyperlocal charity that will immediately turn it into exactly what our community needs.
