There are both pluses and minuses to being a resident of midtown Nashville. In fact, we can name one of each related to our proximity to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Plus? Living a few minutes away from a world-class children’s hospital. Minus? Hearing the helicopters overhead delivering sick patients to said world-class hospital. (It’s not really a complaint.)
Living close to a children’s hospital also typically means having a Ronald McDonald House nearby—a comfy place where the family of a hospitalized child can stay for free (or for hardly anything at all) and be just minutes away when the nurse or doctor calls.
September is also when the Ronald McDonald House of Nashville hosts its annual “Hustle for the House,” a fundraising 5k and 1-mile fun run that benefits the 36-room house. There are so many other ways to support this organization, including sponsoring a meal for its residents, purchasing items on its wish list and collecting pull tabs from aluminum cans, which really couldn’t be an easier or cheaper way to support a great cause.
For more than two years, Exo Legal’s Lawyers Give Back Campaign has donated at least one hour of work to a nonprofit helping people in our community or in our world. This month, we are proud to support Ronald McDonald House of Nashville in their important work supporting families when their child has a serious illness.
