Anthony Legal to present at Creditors’ Forum on bankruptcies in a post-COVID world

By Exo Legal,

When the beginning of the pandemic brought an end to foreclosures and evictions, it was only a matter of time before bankruptcy filings slowed down. And they did. If 2011 was a “banner year” for bankruptcies (there were more than 12,000 filed in the Middle District of Tennessee alone), then 2021 also was extraordinary, but in the exact opposite way. Fewer than 4,000 bankruptcy cases were filed last year. But given ballooning interest rates, rising consumer prices and a slowing economy, that is set to change.

David Anthony will be presenting on this topic at the upcoming Creditors Practice Annual Forum 2022, hosted by the Tennessee Bar Association. Not only will he offer his thoughts on the timing of these new filings, he’ll also provide a refresher on bankruptcy basics for creditors, as well as discuss some new trends and developments in post-COVID bankruptcy cases. He will be joined by Mary Beth Ausbrooks of Rothschild & Ausbrooks PLLC, a Nashville-based consumer bankruptcy law firm.

The half-day forum will be held Wednesday, Sept. 14. Find more information and register on the TBA website.
